New month evaluation

So I am a few days early. The Leap Year has me off.

February -

Pluses - pretty regular about working out. Increases in reps on weights, push-ups, and abs.
Minuses - input still not on track.

Looking to March -
Take up intensity on video workouts. Get next weight up on barbells by mid-month.
As weather improves, add in a jog or two a week IN ADDITION to video workouts.
Get in swim laps at least 1x per week.
Input improvement.


Wednesday, being the busy and late night, I didn't get a workout in.

Thursday AM - Sweat video,with truncated abs workout. Houseguests up and watching....

Monday - Sweat, with all the trappings
Tuesday - Sculpt with 111 push ups, plus 15 minutes of pushing and lifting wet, heavy snow.

Now to bed - Weds are busy days at St. John's.

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Wednesday I did a lethargic Sweat workout in the AM, with one eye on the clock as I knew Meg would be up any minute. And she was before I did Abs work.

Thursday I was off from work and was a slug, saying to myself all day "I should work out soon" and never did.

Friday - up in the AM and did the Sculpt with 107 push-ups. Shorted myself on squats with sore legs.

I forgot to mention....

....yesterday, Wednesday, I got up later than usual, so I didn't work out. Then I told myself I would swim and some point, and didn't. And I taught my evening class, and got home late. So I did no 'formal workout'

But I did shovel in the AM for 20 minutes, so that was at least something, but not much.

Slow start, then some extra workouts

Did the Sculpt workout this morning, with only 102 push ups (did more decline at the beginning though).
Was a bit lethargic, particularly on the squats. I figured later in the day I would have my beavers group, and then could swim some laps.

At lunch, I did my beavers and had an unusually vigorous session. But I was in the last match of the day, and by the time I had lunch it was too late to go back in for a swim.

But then tonight Andrew had basketball practice. Since it is right before the local school's vacation week, attendance was sparce (only 4 of the 10 kids). So after a 1/2 hour of drills, the two coach/dads invited me to join them as we played 3 on 4 for about 30 minutes.

I am not a good basketball player, but it was fun, and a pretty good workout in khakis and a sweater! And now tonight, after all three things, my arms and legs are pretty fatigued! So it was a pretty good day.

Despite the bitter cold...

..I am still getting the workouts in. But for the foreseeable future, they will be indoor ones.

Monday - Sculpt video with 106 push ups!
Tuesday - Sweat video w/o abs (worked out in the evening, and ran out of time to do abs before I had to go and pick up the boys from Karate).

Last week was a good one

Monday - Sweat with bump up to 120 abs
Tuesday - Sculpt
Wednesday - Swim 42 lengths
Thursday - Sweat (lethargic without yoga, punches, abs)
Friday - Sculpt (with 99 pushups!)
Saturday - Sweat (full blown)

Did 99 push ups today (across 4 circuits)! Awesome.
Did Scult Video today, plus the bonus of 20 minutes of pushing snow.

Yesterday did a lethargic Sweat video, w/o yoga or punching or abs....
Bonus - 20 minutes of pushing snow, and beavers.

Ash Wednesday

Was up with Meg from 5am to nearly 6am and then went back to bed until 7:30am.
A morning workout was out of the question time-wise.

About 2:45pm I went for a swim - 42 lengths.

How to get in a cardio video workout this evening after the 6pm Ash Weds Mass, but it won't be bad if I don't since I've already had a workout today.

Two days at the beginning

Yesterday I dawdled all day. Didn't work out in the AM. Told myself I would swim in the afternoon and somehow that slipped away.
But in the PM I did the Cardio Sweat video, with Abs (bumped these up to 120 reps).
Meg and William did it with me (actually, William actually did most of the video).

This morning I got right to work with the sculpt video, even upping the push ups to 90 total!

I always feel better when I start of the day exercising.

If I could set up a perfect workout schedule.... least for the next 5 months

February and March - Power 90 with at least 2x swimming and a jog or two a week bonus.

April, May, June - order P90x and go crazy with that....

Of course, one day/week at a time.

another "bonus" day

I've decided that at least for February and March the Power 90 3/4 is going to be the standard daily workout. Anything else: Swimming, Jogging, Shoveling, etc. will be a 'bonus' second workout of the day.

This morning I did the Sweat (cardio).
After yesterday's Sculpt plus the bonus swim and beavers, I was really sore!

Today's bonus? 30 minutes of shoveling snow...wet heavy snow.

Feeling good - the start of a month is always a renewal sort of day for me, and so far this one is starting off well.
